pulling a stunt

I have been doing a lot of reading on what it takes to spread ideas, or change people’s minds about something. A lot of people have their different viewpoints and will try to sell them to you. But, it really just comes down to pulling a stunt I think. Like Kanye does here. That’s a stunt. I think I am going to do something like this. Not a video projected on buildings, but something to that magnitude, something that get’s people’s attention even if it’s just for a little bit. Also, I like tumblr’s ease of use, but the site is much more for visuals, and I often just like to write. I might start a little wordpress instead. Maybe put that together with my official website that I have yet to make. I’ll have to design it soon.

finally done the story of the “virgin” mary and her immaculate conception for my sequential art final.  very happy with how this came out/that it’s finished.

this is beautiful, good job!

This is actually how I said it probably happened.

I just laughed myself into space

And lo, 2000 years of bullshit did commence.

The image above shows the stock value of Abercrombie and Fitch rising over the last few weeks. Here is why: If you want a CEO to not be a douche, you can’t go out of your way to find his clothes and give them to the homeless. Believe it or not, that only makes the image MORE exclusive and popular because you are reinforcing the fact that the people your giving the clothes to would ordinarily be out of the target “cool” group. You aren’t hurting Abercrombie, you are making them more successful and putting them more on a pedestal. As long as we live in a capitalist nation, there will always be exclusivity- the school you go to, the social network you use, the clubs you are apart of, and the clothes you wear all define this about you. The truth is that the CEO of A&F is simply bad at PR, and he’s dumb for saying what he said the way he said it, however, regarding exclusivity and who the company markets to, the vast majority of companies do this, they’re just not so open and rude about it. If you want to make a changed brand, be a good citizen and create opposing initiatives and use capitalism to your advantage. Create something that appeals to a wider target instead of indadvertedly promoting one who appeals to a small target. Use your critical ability to create a new image if you don’t like the one that AF creates for you. Passing an AF tee to a homeless guy and calling the brand part of the “douche section” makes you sound like an angry kid who’s mad at the “popular” kids for having their own club. Don’t do that. Start your own club instead :)

success

ya know, i can’t make everyone happy. i can only do the best i can. in other news. bradley crapo is awesome and sendasock is growing quickly. we might be staying here over the summer to grow the company and get sendasock ready for the new freshmen. overall, it won’t be the most popular at mica. traditional state colleges will be a better fit. we’re thinking about some games to make too. good shit coming up guys. stay tuned :)

i feel so lonely these days when i have so many people around me. the successes that would normally fulfill one greatly, only leave me with temporary, fading satisfaction.
